The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on fresh terms that will keep him at Gtech Community Stadium until 2031, with the option of a further 12 months.

Lewis-Potter, who has been with Brentford since July 2022, has played in all 24 of their matches across all competitions this season, scoring twice while providing two assists for Thomas Frank's side.

"It feels amazing to sign this new deal," he told the club's official website. "I'm thankful to get it done, and I can't wait for the future.

"It's such a great club. Since I've joined, they've been so good with me. I also feel like I've developed so much, especially this season.

"When it comes to Thomas [Frank], he is so good, especially one-to-one with players, which he's done with me a lot this season. He talks to me every day in training, helps me improve, and he's got full confidence in me - as a player, that's what I want."

The India-Pakistan hockey rivalry has lost its sheen in recent times. Hockey in Pakistan has been in a freefall for the last decade or so while Indians have made a tremendous comeback in the same time period. The two countries used to rule world hockey at one point and the seeds for it were sown during the British rule in India.

"I'm very happy that we've agreed a new contract with Keane," Frank added. "He has been through a great development over the last couple of years.

"For me, he is a fantastic Brentford player with a big skillset. One-on-oneluckyhub777, he is fantastic; his crossing is very good, and the way he helps the team is also so good. There is a big future for him here at Brentford."
