The Philippines is in the top 10 globally in terms of mobile application downloads and hours spent on using them in the past year, according to a report by a data analytics firm Sensor Tower.
In its “State of Mobile 2025” report, the digital intelligence company revealed that Filipino consumers downloaded mobile apps 3.39 billion times last year, beating the record of 3.35 billion in 2023.
This puts the Philippines in 10th place globally in this category.

To recall, at the time the contract was terminated last August—four years after it was awarded—AllCard delivered 49.9 percent of its commitment to supply raw materials for the production of 116 million blank cards.
Globally, mobile users usually download social media apps like Instagram and TikTok.

Article continues after this advertisementAlong with the growth of online shopping, the report noted that mobile users also downloaded more mobile apps for financial services like digital wallet, person-to-person payment app and consumer banking app.
Article continues after this advertisementMobile users, according to the study, pay the most for over-the-top streaming platforms to watch their favorite movies and television series.
Following this, global users also spend on social media apps like TikTok that allow in-app purchases. Other users also pay for premium access for dating apps like Tinder.
Article continues after this advertisementIn terms of time spent using these mobile apps, Filipino users logged on to these apps for 105 billion hours last year, up from 96.9 billion hours in 2023. The Philippines ranked seventh globally in this category.
Indian mobile users were the most active with 1.13 trillion hours, followed by Indonesia with 355.1 billion hours and the United States with 323 billion hours.
The report noted that mobile users across the globe spent nearly 2.4 trillion hours on social media last year, showing 6-percent growth from 2023.

“This was equivalent to 6.6 billion hours per day, or roughly an average of 50 minutes for every person on Earthrich ph,” Sensor Tower estimated.
